We take pride in our 100% safety record here at Rivera Events and put the safety of our users at the forefront of everything we do and with this in mind we feel we need to send out clarification on what to look for when hiring from us or any other inflatable hire company to ensure a safe hire at your party or event.

Most importantly each and every inflatable requires an annual test certificate to be either carried out by a Rpii or Pipa Inspector and must also have public liability insurance for each individual inflatable or any other hire equipment. (Please feel free to contact us for our details of Insurance and evidence of our test certificates and we will be glad to provide these to you or your venue) NO test means NO valid insurance please ask for these when booking any inflatable from us or anyone else.


Every inflatable hired needs to be anchored securely to strict HSE regulations and every anchor point on an inflatable needs to be used when outside, we only set up on grass as we feel concrete or tarmac is not safe as adequate anchorage can not be obtained unless the inflatable can be drilled into the ground to secure it. (If you ever see an Inflatable outside with only sandbags on it to secure it, this is totally against HSE regulations as each anchor point has to have 164kg of weight on it and a sandbag only weighs 25kg maximum). We will not setup up if we arrive and we cannot anchor all anchor points into grass. For stability we use sandbags indoors which helps keep the inflatable in place.


We won't set up in wind speed of 18 mph or gusts above 24mph as this is very dangerous, we will however move your booking fee onto a future booking as we obviously don't find you the customer to blame in this situation. Lives are at risk in these conditions and an inflatable shouldn't be used if the wind speed is above 18 mph or gusts are above 24 mph. (We always carry an anemometer to get an accurate measure of the speeds rather than just rely on a wind speed app, the apps will be used as a guide as to whether it will be possible to set up) The hirer of any inflatable and equipment is responsible at all times to make sure their guests use the inflatable/equipment safely and in a proper manner and we always go through a safety briefing with you once the equipment has all been set up.


We always use quality inflatables from long standing UK manufacturers with a proven track record of safety and those that fully meet and are built to the current British Standard (BS EN 14960)

We are qualified as an RPII 'Operator and Attendant of Children's Inflatable Play Equipment'. This is currently the only recognised qualification within the industry for operators of Inflatable play equipment.We are one of only two companies based in the Torbay, Newton Abbot & Teignmouth area to have this RPII certification.

The RPII (Register of Play Inflatables International) are recognised by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) of England. The HSE oversee the regulation of BSEN:14960 2013 which is the standard we hirers have to work to.


We are proud members of the 'South West of England Professional Hirers Group' which is an elite group of local, professional hirers based in the South West of England that continually prove themselves to provide standards that exceed at the highest levels of the inflatables and party hire industry.

We work very closely with these industry professionals who have a wealth of knowledge in best practice guidelines that's been built up from many years of experience and training.

This unique group keeps up to date with safe practice guidelines and also works closely with manufacturers of industry standard inflatables and party hire equipment. We are only one of two companies that can boast this accreditation in Torbay & the surrounding areas.


As members of the British Inflatables Hirers Association (BIHA) & The Inflatable Play Enterprise (TIPE) we follow a strict code of conduct .


We have the appropriate public liability insurance that covers all of our inflatables, additional products and all of our services.



All of our inflatables & equipment undergo annual testing and meet the specific HSE safety guidelines & All of our electrical equipment is annually PAT tested.



We have enhanced clean DBS Checks



We have First Aid qualifications as well, therefore giving all our customers that peace of mind when it comes to booking with us.


We also carry an Emergency Defibrillator on our van at all times.
